Who is Prof. Dr. Thomas Fuchs?
As the head of Phenomenological Psychopathology and Psychotherapy at Heidelberg University, Prof. Dr. Thomas Fuchs is a remarkable figure who artfully intertwines psychiatry and philosophy for his distinguished career.
He is an esteemed coordinator, responsible for the ambitious Marsilius-Project
““Embodiment as a Paradigm of an Evolutionary Cultural Anthropology”.
His unyielding dedication to his field of research has earned him a chairmanship at the prominent German Society for Phenomenological Anthropology, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (DGAP).
Thomas Fuchs is an exceptionally accomplished leader, having spent nearly a decade in charge of three uniquely ambitious European research programs:
Disorders and Coherence of the Embodied Self (DISCOS)
Towards an Embodied Science of Intersubjectivity (TESIS)
The Brain as an Organ of Interrelations Project.
His tireless efforts to bring together pioneering scientists from around the world have created long lasting impact that continues today.
Ellert has had great appreciation for Fuchs’ work and references to it; i.e. in his latest book the Trinity of Trauma Volume II and II. We are greatly looking forward to learning more from Fuchs on the topic of embodiment.
