Letter to the Editor of the European Journal of Psychotraumatology

Simone Reinders, Onno van der Hart, Eline Vissia, and I wrote a letter to the Editor of the European Journal of Psychotraumatology in response to a recent article by Huntjens and colleagues that was published in this journal.

The reason for writing it was that:
(1) we respectfully disagree with their comparison of Schema Therapy (ST) for DID and Phase-oriented Treatment Models (POTT;
(2) their presentation of our dissociation theory (Nijenhuis, 2015, 2017; Van der Hart, Nijenhuis, & Steele, 2006) as a guide for POTT-models is inadequate; and
(3) their review of experimental studies on dissociative amnesia is not exhaustive and disregards the findings of our neuroimaging studies of different prototypes of dissociative parts in DID.

The link to the letter is: https://doi.org/10.1080/20008198.2019.1687081 Being a letter, our text had to be short. I therefore kindly invite interested colleagues to consult our relevant texts and research papers on the involved topics.

Some of the mentioned articles are available in my online library. My library is accessible for members of my website. Become a member free of charge.
